The Arc is a network of affiliated chapters at the local, state and national level. Membership at any level automatically enrolls you as a member in the other levels. By joining our network of more than 140,000 members and more than 700 affiliated chapters across the United States, you will become part of the largest grass roots movement to protect the rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and ensure that sufficient resources are available to meet their needs in every community in our nation. In North Carolina, we have more than 30 chapters across the state .

Membership connects you to others who share your beliefs and your challenges. We are parents, family members, self-advocates (individuals with disabilities) and advocates that work to assure that children and adults with disabilities have every opportunity to lead full, rich lives in the community with the supports and services that they need.

You can join through a local chapter of The Arc. Find a local chapter in your area. If you cannot find a local chapter in your area, join The Arc of North Carolina. Whether you join at a local or state level, you will automatically become a member of The Arc of the United States.
