The Arc of NC's Annual Convention
September 16-17, 2005
Wilmington, North Carolina
Are you interested in hearing about the latest innovations from dynamic speakers? Gaining valuable insight into State policy on developmental disabilities? Enjoying an old fashioned riverboat cruise with friends from The Arc and other disability rights organizations? Participating in setting The Arc's advocacy agenda for the next year? If yes, then you need to be at the Hilton Wilmington Riverside on September 16 and 17, 2005 for The Arc's Annual State Convention.
This year our agenda features subjects of interest from children's programs to Self-Employment. National speakers, Stanley Klein and Bobby Silverstein will challenge your assumptions. Leza Wainwright, Deputy Director of Mental Health/Developmental Disabilities/Substance Abuse Services, will update attendees on the newest information on State policy! Breakout speakers from throughout North Carolina will provide in-depth information on a variety of topics!
In addition to the hard work of this year's convention, attendees will enjoy a lovely riverboat cruise on the Henrietta, featuring a DJ and a magician. On Friday evening, The Arc's Annual Awards will be presented to deserving recipients throughout our State and this year we will close our convention with the insightful humor of Emily Ballance!
Our schedule also includes ample time to enjoy the company of others and, of course, the great restaurants and shopping in downtown Wilmington. All this combined with September weather at the coast makes this a can't miss event for members of The Arc, family members, professionals, and self advocates!
