Understanding the Criminal Justice System

Human service workers, family members and others who care for and support people with intellectual disabilities need to know how the criminal justice system works so they can help people with disabilities if they become involved with the justice system.  The materials in this section explain the system and point out the places where caregivers and family members can intervene on behalf of those in their care.
