The goal of our Rooted in Advocacy conference is to present people with opportunities to both engage professionals and empower people with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Through large and small group sessions, keynote speakers, and networking events, the Rooted in Advocacy Conference will strengthen ties between the professional community, direct support staff, chapters, families, and self-advocates and will ultimately help communities become more inclusive.

Request for Speakers

We are looking for engaging presenters and content for both our professional conference sessions as well as for our self-advocate sessions. Attendees for the professional track will be all who interact with or engage with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their work (including educators or school system personnel, attorneys, Guardian ad Litems, direct support professionals, as well as our chapter staff) across the state. Family members are also welcome and encouraged to attend these sessions. Our self-advocate sessions will be made up of adults who have an intellectual or developmental disability diagnosis. We welcome presentation proposals for both groups.
