The Arc of North Carolina believes that all people should be empowered to live in accessible, affordable housing in inclusive communities of their choosing. Since 1978, in an effort to provide alternatives to large institutions, The Arc of North Carolina has developed over 342 residences that are operated in partnership with local organizations. These residences include group homes, small apartment buildings, duplexes and condominiums, together serving more than 2200 residents. Through the housing program, The Arc of North Carolina has helped countless individuals with IDD and SPMI move from housing that is more restrictive to homes where they can achieve greater independence and have more opportunities.

Housing Controller
JOB DESCRIPTION
This description is intended to describe the essential duties, responsibilities, and requirements for the performance of this job. The duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the list below.
JOB TITLE: Housing Controller
This position supports the philosophies, positions, directives, and programs of The Arc of North Carolina by performing these and other duties as assigned by the Senior Housing Controller and Executive Director.
Reports To: This position will be under the direct supervision of the Senior Housing Controller.
FLSA Status: Exempt
Minimum Requirements: Four (4) year degree in the field of accounting and or have a finance degree. Must have knowledge of federal, state, and local housing programs and development of HUD programs. General knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Required Training: As required by policy
Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED)
· Maintain the general ledger.
· Record required journal entries.
· Select invoices for weekly payments.
· Create monthly miscellaneous administration invoices.
· Log monthly gross rents and receivables.
· Requests budget-based rent increases.
· Requests funds quarterly from residual receipts.
· Generate management fee statements.
· Analyze the overall financial position of the properties and make recommendations regarding decreasing expenses and increasing revenues, while following HUD guidelines and procedures.
· Analyze replacement reserve accounts and make necessary adjustments.
· Maintain and generate financial reports.
· Generate monthly accounting reports for HUD on required properties.

· Respond to HUD financial review inquiries.
· Attend conference/seminars related to accounting.
