Resource Advocate/Care Manager Extender for Tailored Care Management

The Resource Advocate serves as the Extender role in Tailored Care Management in North Carolina. The Resource Advocate assists in the coordination necessary to carry out integrated, whole person care for the individuals served, and assists with contacting people receiving care management or eligible for care management, gathering assessment and evaluation information for each person, coordinating appointments and transportation, and providing information, education and needed resource connections. The Resource Advocate must be highly organized and possess excellent communication skills and be an advocate for the person within the service system(s) and the community. This position would cover Guilford, Alamance, Forsyth, Yakin, Surry, Stokes, and Rockingham County. Looking for bilingual/Spanish speaking applicant-preferred not required.

Reports To: This position will be under the direct supervision of the Care Manager.

FLSA Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience

Minimum Requirements:

• Is at least 18 years of age and has a high school diploma or GED. And meets one of the below requirements:

• Be a person with lived experience with an I/DD or a TBI with demonstrated knowledge of and direct personal experience navigating the North Carolina Medicaid delivery system.

• Or a person with lived experience with a behavioral health condition who is a Certified Peer Support Specialist.

• Or a parent or guardian of an individual with an I/DD or a TBI or a behavioral health condition and has at least two years of direct experience providing care for and navigating the Medicaid delivery system on behalf of that individual (parent/guardian cannot serve as an extender for their family member).

• Has two years of paid experience performing the types of functions described above, with at least one year of paid experience working directly with the IDD population.

Care Manager Position – Guilford County Working out of the Greensboro Office

The Care Manager provides comprehensive care management to ensure integrated, whole person care for the individuals we serve. The Care Manager must be highly organized and possess excellent leadership skills. This position interfaces with many local and state-wide partners and requires the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with a number of Tailored Plans and professional disciplines, such as psychiatry, psychology, medicine, social work, and occupational therapy, speech therapy, physical therapy, teaching, and direct support professionals for the benefit of the individuals being supported. The Care Manager must use professional judgment in conducting in-depth individual assessments and providing supportive counseling and guidance. The Care Manager will serve as the primary advocate for the person within the service system(s) and the community. This position would assist in covering Surry, Stokes, Rockingham, and Yakin County. Ideal candidate would live in one of these counties. Looking for a bilingual/Spanish speaking applicant-preferred not required.

Reports To: This position will be under the direct supervision of the Senior Care Manager

Minimum Requirements:

· Care Managers serving members with I/DD or TBI must qualify as a Qualified Professional (QP) in North Carolina and have one of the following minimum qualifications:

· A bachelor’s degree in a field related to health, psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, or another relevant human services area, or licensure as a registered nurse (RN); and

· Two years of experience working directly with individuals with IDD, TBI and/or dual diagnoses of IDD and MI; and

· For care managers serving members with long-term support needs: two years of prior long-term support and/or Home and Community-based Services coordination, care delivery monitoring, and care management experience, in addition to the requirements cited above. (This experience may be concurrent with the two years of experience working directly with individuals with IDD, TBI, or dual diagnoses outlined above.)

Supports Manager

Position Status: Full- Time

Location: Greensboro, NC

Salary Range: $38,000.00 – $48,500.00 annually

The Arc of NC is seeking a full-time Supports Manager to support to individuals/families with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Greensboro area.

The Supports Manager will assist individuals/families with the hiring, managing, training, and evaluating of staff. The Supports Manager will also provide clinical supervision for staff, develop short-range goals, complete required reports, and monitor individual authorized services. They will maintain communications with all invested parties, coordinate team meetings with families and provide support to individual/families during challenging situations. Some travel is required.

Candidate should be a motivated team player, flexible, creative, hardworking and organized, as well as have excellent problem solving and communications skills. Candidate must have solid computer skills and should possess a thorough knowledge of person-centered thinking and state and federal regulations.

Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of full-time experience in the field of developmental disabilities and must meet the qualifications of a Qualified Professional.

Accounts Receivable Specialist - HOUSING DEPARTMENT

Position Status: Full-time

Location: Greensboro, N.C.

Education Requirements: High School diploma or GED and at least 3 years of administrative support and accounting experience. Experience in Accounts Receivable is strongly preferred.  

Experience Requirements: The position requires solid computer skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and 3 years of office experience.

The Arc of NC seeks a highly organized and detailed-oriented individual to support the operation of our Housing Division that serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Greensboro and surrounding areas.    

Responsibilities: The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for accurately processing all accounts receivable and payable entries and ensuring proper documentation of services is billed. Maintain and assist with having accurate records and monthly end closing reports.  Responsible for invoicing and reconciliations as needed. Assists in projects for the Housing Finance Department. Post and deposit payments for housing clients and send late notices for past due accounts. Verify the accuracy and receipt of the required documents for clients’ housing. Carry out collections and reporting activities according to specific deadlines.

Related experience in direct care or special education is preferred but not required. Creativity, progressive thinking, strong advocacy skills, and knowledge of community resources are highly desirable. Qualified applicants must be 18 or older, current driver's license, and pass background checks.
