Supports Manager

Position Status: Full- Time

Location: Asheville, NC

Salary Range: $45k - $48K annually

The Arc of NC is seeking a full-time Supports Manager to support to individuals/families with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Asheville area.

The Supports Manager will assist individuals/families with the hiring, managing, training, and evaluating of staff. The Supports Manager will also provide clinical supervision for staff, develop short-range goals, complete required reports, and monitor individual authorized services. They will maintain communications with all invested parties, coordinate team meetings with families and provide support to individual/families during challenging situations. Some travel is required.

Candidate should be a motivated team player, flexible, creative, hardworking and organized, as well as have excellent problem solving and communications skills. Candidate must have solid computer skills and should possess a thorough knowledge of person-centered thinking and state and federal regulations.

Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of full-time experience in the field of developmental disabilities and must meet the qualifications of a Qualified Professional.

AREA GUARDIANSHIP SPECIALIST

Location: Murphy, NC

Position: Full-Time

The Arc of North Carolina is looking for a committed advocate to join our Area Guardianship Team! Guardianship Specialist will support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and/or mental health and substance use disorders in Murphy, NC and surrounding counties. Candidate must be a motivated team player, flexible, creative and hardworking, as well as, have excellent problem solving and communication skills.

Guardianship Specialists provide guardianship supports and services in compliance with the North Carolina General Statute Chapter 35A. It requires substitute decision making, advocacy, monitoring, reporting, service record maintenance, relationship building, liaison activities, and sometimes the ability to mediate challenging situations.

Position requires the ability to work independently and travel throughout the region to visit individuals in their homes and other settings. Candidate must have professional experience in the field of I/DD, mental health and/or substance use. A degree in a human service field and five years of experience in IDD /MH/SU is preferred.

Part-Time Maintenance Technician

Position Status: Part-Time

Location: Rutherfordton and Hendersonville, NC

Education Requirements: High School Diploma with two years of maintenance experience. General skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and preventive maintenance and or certificate in HVAC.

Experience Requirements: Candidate must have experience in conducting home inspections, construction and home maintenance, Microsoft Office applications and databases, preferably in a professional office environment.

Prefer having experience working with people with disabilities. Must be able to sustain a large amount of travel, including overnights, and schedule and manage large amounts of information successfully. Organizational and planning skills with an ability to effectively prioritize work tasks is a must.

Responsibilities: The Maintenance Technician will perform routine inspections and maintenance to designated housing properties. The candidate will coordinate, schedule and follow-up on all HUD, REAC and NCHFA inspections as necessary, ensure compliance with various local, state and federal regulations, and help respond to tenants’ needs as they arise. Responsible for maintaining company vehicle inspections and maintenance. Will work closely with management and Property Inspectors to resolve property issues as they arise.

Support Associate (Direct Care Staff)

Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities: Providing breaks for caregivers, assistance with personal care, teaching skills to increase independence, promoting inclusion in the community. Related experience in direct care or special education is preferred but not required. Creativity, progressive thinking, strong advocacy skills, and knowledge of community resources are highly desirable. Qualified applicants must be 18 or older, current driver's license, and pass background checks.
