Supported Employment Coordinator
Position Status: Full-time
Location: Asheville, N.C.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Supported Employment Coordinator to join our team. The Supported Employment Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the provision of employment-related supports and services, supervising Employment Specialists, managing funding sources, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements, and advocating for the rights of individuals with developmental disabilities.
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in human services and 3 years of experience in disability field with supervisory experience preferred, or 2-year degree in human services with 5 years of work experience in disability with 3 years supervisory experience preferred.
Experience Requirements: The position requires excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities in a vocational rehabilitation or supported employment setting.
Responsibilities: Oversee the provision of employment-related supports and opportunities through The Arc, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and philosophies. Monitor funding sources from Vocational Rehabilitation and additional state or federal sources, ensuring compliance with funding requirements. Complete all reports and documentation required by local and state funders, maintaining accurate records of program activities and outcomes. Advocate for the rights and inclusion of people with developmental disabilities in the community, representing The Arc on relevant committees, councils, and advisory groups. Assist individuals in developing life plans using Person-Centered Planning techniques, supporting their access to needed services and accompanying them to interviews as necessary. Oversee Project SEARCH, including responsibilities related to Vocational Rehabilitation services and fulfilling the role of Instructor to the Program. Support The Arc of North Carolina's philosophies and programs, fulfilling other tasks as assigned by the Regional Director or designee.

Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED
Responsibilities: Providing breaks for caregivers, assistance with personal care, teaching skills to increase independence, promoting inclusion in the community. Related experience in direct care or special education is preferred but not required. Creativity, progressive thinking, strong advocacy skills, and knowledge of community resources are highly desirable. Qualified applicants must be 18 or older, current driver's license, and pass background checks.
