DSP Appreciation Week 2026

September 13-19 is a big week and we’re celebrating two national recognition events!

First, it’s Direct Support Professional Recognition Week. The Arc of North Carolina is proud to celebrate amazing Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in our state and all around the country.

They are the heart and soul of everything we do to support people with disabilities to access and participate in our communities. DSPs are critical to the individuals and families who count on them. Many people with intellectual and developmental disabilities need daily physical assistance. Take some time and thank a DSP!

And it is Disability Voting Rights Week. Tuesday, November 3rd is Election Day. Voters will elect people running for the US House of Representatives, US Senate, North Carolina House, North Carolina Senate, state and local offices.

When we vote, we choose who will represent the disability community. The people we vote for will decide how important programs for people with disabilities work.

Your vote helps decide who is elected to help build better services, programs, and inclusion for people with disabilities. Their decisions can affect your lives. Your vote matters!
